We would ideally like a volunteer to work with us for 8 to 12 hours per month and the group meet monthly on a Monday afternoon from 11.30 am, but we can be flexible to suit your schedule.


We’re the UK’s Parkinson’s support and research charity. Because we’re here, no one has to face Parkinson’s alone.  We provide ground-breaking research, expert information, friendship, support, campaigning and fundraising to find a cure, and improve life for everyone affected by Parkinson’s

Purpose/Objective of the Role

As a general committee volunteer, you will learn about the branch structure and take on projects that support its objectives.

Tasks/Duties Involved

  • contributing ideas for fundraising, activities and speakers
  • sharing experiences with the committee and connecting with the local community
  • helping to prepare for and clear up after group meetings

Skills Required 

In order to fulfil this role, you will be:

  • good communicator, as you will be working with a wide range of different people
  • collaborative and team focused, as you will take part in regular meetings and discussions
  • motivated and reliable, and able to show patience and empathy when dealing with sensitive situations
